Stuck At Paperwork

We are still trying to become a corporation right now. We'll need some legal help with the paper. After that, we will have to add the INC. to our name and that's another $50. Slowly but surely we are getting there. We are also trying to come up with a art group that artist can come together and show off their creativity. We are trying to see who to go with though; meetup, facebook group, yahoo group. We are placing the fundraiser on Indiegogo on hold right now because we want to get the paper work done first. If anyone have any suggestions, we are all ears. We are doing this alone but help is always needed. Thanks!

New Artist Tarski Merceda

We have added our first artist to our Artist page. His name is Tarski Merceda. You can read his bio on the Artist page. His profile picture and portfolio will be added soon.

Business Plan with Live Plan

In the beginning we were trying to write out the business plan by going through the steps on a website. That was long and we got stuck often. So we decided to look up software that could help. We came across a couple. One was Business Plan Pro that was for windows only and we work on Mac. The second one was Bizplan for $30 and the last one was @Liveplan for $20 with a 60 days trial. So we've been working with Liveplan and it's great so far. I love the layout and the function of the site it's easy to use. Wish we gotten it from the beginning then we could've been done by now lol. Right now we are working on the target market on the Pitch. Once we are done with the Pitch, we will be working on the more detailed Plan.

Working Out The Perks

Right now we are still going over what we want to be the perks on IndieGoGo. For right now, we will need to make gifts to be able to ship out to the donators. So I will be shopping around for the best prices for making ad specialties. I have someone in mind for some of them but others I will need to contact someone else. We will be going to $1 to $500. Separately, we will be holding 3 lifetime memberships for $1000 donations. They will be able to come to all the events for free and maybe a discount on some of the things that are for sale. I won't be able to make the fundraising page available until we work everything out and have some of the gifts in your possession to send out.

IndieGoGo is the Way We'll Go

So after speculating on what fundraiser site to go with, we decided to go with IndieGoGo. We read a lot of reviews about successes that it has. Not only that, but I came across some people who used IndieGoGo as their site and people did donate. I like that fact that it has perks, something that you give people that donate. We haven't decided on what the perks will be though. We thought about starting off with $1 and doing a beautiful thank you email with my graphic design expertise. Next would be the $5 with... a Thank You card and a name of the wall of donators. We are looking into it as we speak. After I post, I will go to IndieGoGo to finish off the campaign. EVERYONE who donates will be listed on blog and our wall. The range will be $1 to $200. I will be placing a widget of the fundraiser on the blog to replace Youcaring.

Looking for Another Fundraising Website.

Ok so, Amazon Payments is still giving us a hard time so I was looking around for other fundraising websites that might help. I came across this website that list the different fundraising sites. They tell us the advantages and disadvantages of the sites. I looked over the disadvantages of Kickstarter and I think I changed my mind of going with them to help. Here are the disadvantages.
Disadvantages of Kickstarter:
-The most obvious disadvantage is that if you don’t reach your goal, Kickstarter doesn’t release the funds. The reasoning for this given on their website is that it allows artists to test their concepts without risk to them or the buyers (as stated before, the website is targeted more for artists, musicians, etc.). They also say that it motivates people to spread the word.
-Kickstarter also sets a time limit on your project (90 days max). Again, this could be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it.
-You can’t change the details of your project once you launch your page.
Once I read those, I totally want to find someone else to help fund-raise. I'll post again to tell you who we are going with.

Kickstarter Delay

We are still trying to get the account with Kickstarter to help us open Mysteries doors. Right now we are going back and forth with Amazon Payment with the tax information to get the account verified so we can use it to accept the payments from Kickstarter. That's the only hill we have to get over in order for the Kickstarter account to be available.
